Request your export from LinkedIn
1
Open your data settings
On LinkedIn, click Me in the top bar, then Settings & Privacy. Open Data privacy and choose Get a copy of your data.
2
Select Connections
Choose Want something in particular? Select the data files you’re most interested in and tick Connections. You don’t need the full archive.
3
Request the archive
Click Request archive and enter your LinkedIn password if asked. LinkedIn emails you when the export is ready.
Download and unzip it
Follow the link in LinkedIn’s email, or go back to Get a copy of your data, and download the export. It arrives as a ZIP file. Unzip it and findConnections.csv. That is the file to upload. Clearcue takes the CSV itself, not the ZIP.
Upload it to Clearcue
1
Find your connections signal
Go to Signals and find your LinkedIn connections signal.
2
Open the import
Open the ⋯ menu on the signal and choose Import connections (CSV). It reads Re-import connections (CSV) if you’ve uploaded one before. The Upload export button in the Finish setting up dialog opens the same upload.
3
Upload the file
Drop in
Connections.csv and click Import connections. Progress shows in the dialog while the file is processed.Good to know
- Every connection in the file is imported, with no date cut-off.
- Re-importing is safe. A connection that’s already tracked is never counted twice. Upload a fresher export whenever you like and only what’s new is added.
- Some connections can’t be imported. LinkedIn leaves out the profile link for connections who hid their profile. Without it there’s nothing to track.
- The file must be a CSV of up to 50 MB. An unedited
Connections.csvis far smaller. If the import says the file doesn’t look like a connections export, check you uploadedConnections.csvand not another file from the archive.
